If you often transport ingredients or cooked meals from a food prep facility to a restaurant, a high-quality chamber vacuum bag is essential for your success and bottom line.
Regardless of the specific foods or ingredients you want to store, preserve, or transport, we offer a variety of chamber vacuum sealer bags for our wholesale food customers to choose from.
Difference between gallon chamber and embossed vacuum bags
As you browse online for vacuum seal bags you’ll likely come across two different options: chamber sealer bags and embossed sealer bags. The main differences between the two come down to who uses them and how the air is sucked out of the bag with machines. Embossed bags are typically used by amateur home chefs to preserve foods and require special at-home vacuum sealer machines. Chamber bags, on the other hand, are put into a chamber which then sucks the air out of the bag, and are used most often in professional settings.
If you’re a professional chef or work in a wholesale food prep environment, chamber vacuum bags are the best option for you especially if you already have the machines, tools, and supplies you need. In fact, since CarePac is a wholesale vacuum sealer bag distributor, we only manufacture and sell chamber vacuum bags. It’s important to note that you’ll need an in-chamber, non-channeled commercial vacuum sealer to use our bags. If you aren’t sure if your equipment can be used with our bags, please connect with our customer service team for more information.

Wholesale Chamber Vacuum Bags: FAQs
As a leading supplier of bulk vacuum sealer bags in the United States, we get a lot of questions from current and prospective customers. Here are just a few of the most common:
Can vacuum sealer bags be put in the freezer/microwave?
Yes, our bags can be placed into a freezer and heated up in the microwave. If you’d like to boil these bags, please let us know so we can incorporate that feature into your bag. Vacuum pouches are ideal for long-term storage of food in the freezer and, since much of the air is removed from the package before freezing, the formation of ice crystals (otherwise known as freezer burn) can be avoided.
Is it possible to wash and reuse vacuum sealer bags?
Although it’s possible, we don’t recommend doing so for hygienic reasons -- particularly since food industry establishments are held to higher cleanliness standards than home kitchens are. If your bag contained meats, fish, soup, eggs, cheese, seafood, or any other food item please discard the bag immediately after use, as it may contain bacteria.
What types of food can/cannot be vacuumed seal?
You can vacuum seal most anything (fruits, veggies, meat, chicken, seafood, nuts, soups, eggs, sauces, complete meals, etc.) with a few exceptions. First, you cannot vacuum seal cruciferous vegetables. They emit gas as they ripen that can cause the food inside to spoil. You also can’t seal things like garlic, mushrooms, and soft cheeses.
What do the different bag thicknesses mean?
The bag’s thickness is one element that relates to its durability. Thicker bags are generally more durable and will last longer in storage. But, thicker bags will not conform to the product being vacuumed as easily, or can crush the product inside. If you plan on performing standard commercial vacuuming we recommend a
3 mil or 70 micro material. If you have something with sharp edges or that is very heavy you might consider thicker, but that will require a stronger vacuum chamber sealer. If you let us know what you’ll be using the bags for we can help you decide on a thickness that’s right for your situation.
